All Fired Up
All Fired Up was a four piece band from Adelaide, South Australia. Back in the good old days when nearly every pub had live music, the young Gawler band was in great demand. Debuting at Adelaide’s premier rock ‘n’ roll venue The Bridgeway Hotel on 6th May, 1988, the band quickly grew in popularity and were soon playing gigs all over South Australia.
The original gigging lineup of David O’Brien, Ross Pirone, Tony Gagliardi and Ben Parkin combined a great mix of catchy originals and party favourite covers with all members contributing vocals and harmonies. A visit to a recording studio lay down some original demos for posterity.
Due to a need to concentrate on University studies, original member Tony Gagliardi was replaced by popular, ace Gawlerite guitarist Shane Kairns. The popularity of All Fired Up skyrocketed playing gigs from the Far North, The Riverland to Mt Gambier, regularly playing alongside bands such as Iron Horse and the “it” band at the time, Melbourne group The Chantoozies on their South Australian tour.
The following year All Fired Up went back to the studio to record three of their best originals, one of which, Night Time can be found as a bonus track on the Fyred Up debut album About Time. The band continued to pack their ‘spiritual home’ The Gawler Abbey along with residencies at Nuriootpa’s The Vine Inn and popular Murray Bridge venue The Oasis which later became Meeky’s Tavern until work commitments forced the band to reluctantly cease.
